HEALTH IS A SOCIAL GOOD
NOT A MERCHANDISE
The tragic reality we are experiencing every day at the Health Services (Institution of Social Insurances, Health Centres, Hospitals e.t.c.) with appointments after 3 months of waiting, endless queues, waiting lists for very serious surgeries, continuous debts, decreasing medical and nursing personnel is the result of the “sick” Health System that has been existed and which, at the time of Memorandum, is led at intensive paces to its total scorn and commercialization. Its abolishment was methodized by the politics of the Governments and the application of measures imposed by IMF (International Monetary Fund) in the field of Health.
Heath, Education, Water Supply and Means of Transport are social goods they are not sold or bought. Health is a social good and everybody’s right. It should be provided free to all the citizens, employees, unemployed, immigrants, non insured.
Heath, Education, Water Supply and Means of Transport are social goods they are not sold or bought. Health is a social good and everybody’s right. It should be provided free to all the citizens, employees, unemployed, immigrants, non insured.
We demand that we should all have equal access to high quality Health Services without any financial tax.
We are against the fusion and the abolishment of Hospitals, Health Centres as well as the decreasing of beds. We are against the creation of Houses for the poor, the “outsiders” of the System (homeless, non insured e.t.c.), with miserable benefits. We say ‘No’ to the closing of Institutions of Social Insurances at Nea Zoi, Anthoupoli, Kolokynthous.
We say ‘No’ to the closing of Centres of Mental Health (Organization Against Drugs). We say‘ No’ to their cession to individuals and speculators of the human pain, the financial, social and mental extermination of the sick and their families.
We say ‘No’ to the “unfair taxes” of 5 Euros for the extra examinations, the afternoon surgeries in hospitals, the lists of medicines and examinations. On the contrary, we demand the increase of financing for Health and the abolishment of the minimum number of revenue stamps for medical insurance.
We codemn “fakelaki” (the extra money that is given to the doctor), the cliental relations of doctors, the managers of hospitals that earn millions from the medicine industries, contractors and suppliers.
We demand direct crewing of all Health Services, more beds and departments at the Attikon Hospital, hiring of permanent medical and nursing personnel.
Solidarity to the fight of the employees in the field of Health.
Health and Life are non-negotiable
and we do not accept their cost accounting.
We take our life in our hands.
